They would need a secure garden as she can wander, but otherwise she doesn’t need much more.

Please contact our webmaster or call Terry on 01608 685039 for further information.

18 – 24 June is Pre-school Learning Alliance’s Playweek, and Sibford Tots and Babes based in Sibford Gower, are holding a special event for families and the local community to celebrate learning through play and all things early years. We would love each of our young guests to bring along their favourite teddy bear or doll and join in on our tots and babes picnic. Join us on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st 9.30-11-30am in the small Village Hall, Sibford Gower.

Sibford Tots and Babes is a voluntary run group and has been established since 2008. The playgroup setting will be throwing open its doors and inviting children, families and the local community to enjoy fun activities and find out more about the activities typically on offer in our regular sessions.

Playweek is also a chance to celebrate play and have some fun! Play is fundamental to children’s development and it is especially vital in the early years as the main way that children learn about the world around them. During the event there will be lots of opportunities for children to take part in fun and interesting activities, including messy play, games and even a teddy bears’ picnic.

Sibford Tots and Babes organisers said “We are really looking forward to holding our Playweek event and welcoming children and families from the local community to our setting. It is a chance for parents to find out about what is on offer, for everyone to have fun and to celebrate this great local group.”

Playweek is the Pre-school Learning Alliance’s annual celebration of pre-schools and early years settings. During Playweek thousands of Alliance members throughout England will be holding events which highlight the fundamental importance of play for children’s learning and development – an ethos the Alliance has championed for over 40 years.

1. For further information please contact Harriet Mountford 07813202726.

2. Sibford Tots and Babes is a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance, the largest voluntary sector provider of quality affordable childcare and education in England. Through direct provision and its membership of 15,000 nurseries, sessional pre-schools and parent and toddler groups, the Alliance supports over 800,000 children and their families in England. The Alliance also develops and runs training and accreditation and family learning programmes, offers information and advice, and campaigns to influence early years policy and practice.

Please Note: This is a brief draft of the minutes taken on March 19th 2012 and have not been signed off by the Council.

We are still waiting for the WCC Street light team to change the lighting to go off at midnight and come on again if it is dark at 6am in the morning.

This meeting also had a planning application which was application No.12/00473/VARY at Marsh Farm, Stourton for Mr H Powell.

Proposed variation of condition 7 of planning permission reference 11/02470/FUL to allow the use of the approved stable building for equestrian livery purposes.

The Councillors voted 4 to 1 against this as on a previous 11/02470/FUL it did not state that this was to be a livery business.

The Council had a bill for repairs to the street lights but this was not paid as it was for repairs and maintenance on 15 lights and we only have 14.

It was decided to give £200.00 to the Diamond Jubilee Fund.

Several pot holes have been reported on the corner at Cherington Mill and the footpath by the thatched cottage in Stourton is in a dangerous condition.

The Chairman, Mr Parker and the Clerk attended an informal appeal on Philips Field at Stratford on 6th March.

The planning inspector adjourned the meeting after about an 1hour, as the valuations submitted by Stratford District Council and the owner of the site were, as the planning inspectorate stated, “Oceans apart” The next meeting will be 30th April.

Councillor Parker said that Orbit Housing Association was selling off some of their older properties on the open market in the local area.

The last remaining one in Burmington had already been sold and one at Whichford was on the market.

He said that he had spoken to Orbit and they said that this was being done to fund building new houses in other districts.

The Council felt this was unfair as we and Whichford are in need of these houses. Clerk will contact other Parish Councils and the local MP.

Please Note: The above is a brief draft of the minutes taken on March 19th 2012 and have not been signed off by the Council.

Circuit of the Cotswolds: Sunday 10th June 2012 Marriott’s Stadium, Witney, Oxfordshire

Join us for a challenging ride through the scenic hills of the Cotswolds and help raise money for Helen & Douglas House!

Helen & Douglas House provide respite and end-of-life care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions. Helen House was the world’s first children’s hospice and in 2012 we are celebrating 30 years of care.

Circuit of the Cotswolds is a challenge ride but is not a race; although many cyclists choose to try and complete the ride in their best time, others are happy to take it a bit slower and admire the beautiful Cotswold scenery. The route is 70 miles with an option of a longer 102 mile route, providing a challenge for riders of varying levels of fitness. This sportive event starts and finishes at Marriott’s Stadium, Witney, Oxfordshire. Entry is £25 per person.
