Rounders at Stourton / Cherington Playing Fields

We had a  nice fun game of rounders down at the playing fields today.

I took L and T along at about 3:30 and initially the kids (about 10 or 12 of them) had a little knock about amongst themselves with me and John doing the fielding and bowling.

It was a lovely afternoon, the sun was shining and there were very few clouds in the sky, the nice weather bought a few more parents/adults out and at about 4:30 we started a game of the men against the ladies.

The ladies batted first  and scored a grand total of 1 and 1half rounders, the half was for 3 no balls, and the rounder was one of those comedy of errors where the ball was hardly hit, but was thrown to the wrong base everytime and the final throw to 4th base went over everuyones heads in to the hedge at the back.

The men came in to bat and had already scored 2 rounders within the first 4 or 5 men, we eventually went on to score about 8 or 9 and were easy winners.

After the game we srolled down to the Cherington Arms where John had laid on a fine spread of hot dogs and chips for everyone.

All in all it was a great afternoon, I came home worn out though and are al;ready stiffening up, both the kids really enjoyed it and were tucked up in bed early , worn out too.
