Cherington Stourton Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Meeting

 

A final meeting to put the finishing touches to the Cherington and Stourton Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations is to take place at 7:30pm on Monday 28th May at the Village Hall.

Please come along to find out what is happening on the day.

 

Sutton-Under-Brailes Parish AGM

CSS Seniors Club

The early summer programme includes our AGM in the Village Hall on Friday 11th May at 7.30pm, and a visit to the Sutton-under-Brailes summer fete on Saturday 16th June with vouchers for free refreshments!  Our first day visit of the summer is to Lichfield Cathedral and the National Arboretum on Wednesday 27th June, leaving the Cherington Arms car park at 9.00am.  Seats are still available for this visit, members £15, non-members £18. Don’t forget our Chatterbox Club meets in the Village Hall at 2.30pm on Tuesday 15th May and Tuesday 19th June, the latter meeting is open to any senior person to come and join us for tea and biscuits.  Further information from Jean Bryant (686371) or Alan Wright (686480).

Coffee Second Saturday 12th May

The Coffee Shop will be held in the Village Hall 10.00 am to 12 midday. The updated information and drawings for the New Village Hall Project will be available. The Committee invite all residents of Cherington, Stourton and Sutton-under-Brailes to come along and see what is happening at the Planning Application stage.

In addition to the normal Coffee Morning on the 12th May there will also be a Coffee Morning and Plant Sale on Saturday 19th May from 10-12 noon in aid of the ‘VHF’

This will be organised by the Cherington and Stourton Gardening Group. We would welcome any plants you may have available to sell on the day, and if you require any help then please contact a Gardening Group member. We look forward to seeing you.

Jubilee Celebration June 4th

A reminder to all villagers, if you haven’t already done so, don’t forget to return your attendance slip for the Jubilee Celebration.

Children don’t forget to enter the draw for Jubilee Queen and attendants – the draw to decide the winner will take place at the May Coffee Morning in the Village Hall on Saturday 12th May.

Children are also invited to draw a colourful picture of the head and shoulders of a beautiful queen and return it to The Cherington Arms or Simon Rutherford’s house (1 The Orchard) before Friday May 4th.   All the designs will be printed onto a commemorative Jubilee  mug.

Coffee Second Saturday 9th June 10am-12noon

A ‘Good to Meet You’ Theme! Several new residents have joined our villages in the last few weeks and months and this is a special invitation to come along for ‘Coffee and Cake’ and meet with each other. Similarly if you’ve lived here longer and would like to meet more or new people then do come and join in. Regulars will, I’m sure, be pleased to come along and make everyone welcome.

Easyfundraising

Thank you to people who donate by doing their online shopping via the ‘easyfundraising’ website for Cherington, Stourton and Sutton-under-Brailes Village Hall Fund.   This simple operation has already brought in £358.18.  Our supporters are listed on the site and do a great job raising significant amounts (our first place fundraiser has alone raised £154.20). The help is very much appreciated.   If anyone would like to know how to start using this then just give me a call – Annie 686523.
